Name, age and area of the country you will represent.
David Muir, 41 and representing Scotland in Chester.
Why the hell are you doing this?
Keeping in shape, the love of big goals and to raise money for a really good cause.
Who / what is your inspiration?
Two things happened about the same time - First - I watched a TV programme about the Scottish bloke, Mark Beaumont, 25 years old who cycled around the world in under 7 months, breaking the previous record by 276 days. I thought his effort was incredible - head down and just got on with it. Second - I was at a CooP charity ball and the charity was diabetes - I was blown away by the scale and impact of the condition and felt I'd like to do something big.
What will be the hardest part of the journey?
Day three onwards when I realise that I can't get away from the rest of the group or god forbid, I can't catch them!
What will you do at the finish line?
Cry with relief and delight. Fall off bike. Phone Aileen, Emily and John. Phone my Mum and Dad. Go for a beer with the team.
Will you ever get on a bike again?
Oh yes, thinking about the next trip already!
