Why the hell are you doing this?

Tom and Roy made me. I was disarmed by too much Christmas sherry. A cure for Type 1 Diabetes is the real reason.

Who / what is your inspiration?

I’m doing this in memory of my little brother, Paul, who had Type 1 Diabetes and who, on a daily basis, had to cope with 10 times what we’re putting ourselves through. Paul was best man at my wedding - on the right in this photo - and died unexpectedly 2 months later of Diabetes related complications. Forever young mate.

What will be the hardest part of the journey?

Start, middle and end. And having Tom’s backside as a view for miles on end.

What will you do at the finish line?

Push my bike off the cliff.
